How to NOT Hire a VA
A few years ago, I hit a wall in my business.
I had so many offers:
- Workshops
- Courses
- VIP days
- Group programs
I THOUGHT I was setting myself up for success.
Or that's what I was told from my connections. The more I had, the more chances I had to onboard clients.
Instead, I felt like I was wading through mud, or... molasses... or anything hard to walk through.
Every day felt like a chaotic game of “which offer am I selling today?” “Who am I marketing to?” “What the heck am I supposed to focus on?”
I was exhausted.
And worst of all, potential clients weren’t converting.
Because when they landed on my website or talked to me, they didn’t see a clear next step.
Simplicity Sells
It finally clicked when I looked at my calendar one morning.
I had three calls that day, and I didn't know enough about the people to offer a specific service to them. So, I created a presentation with three options.
I walked each person through the three options... They had SO many questions about which would be best for them.
Spoiler: none of them converted.
They shared the typical "I need to think about it" response. Not something you want to hear from three people when you've set a goal to reach $30K per month.
So, I scrapped everything.
I created one clear journey for people to follow. And that decision changed everything:
- Fewer calls
- Higher conversions
- Less presentation guesswork
Now, I see so many service providers making the same mistake. They think more offers = more freedom.
But it actually means more chaos.
Stop Treating Your Business Like a Buffet
If you’re scaling to $20K-$40K months, you don’t need hundreds of productized offers or a VA to manage the madness.
You don’t need to wake up every morning wondering what to sell or how to market it.
What you really need is a single, streamlined journey that makes it easy for clients to say YES!
So, take a look at your business right now:
Is it designed to make conversations easy with your potential clients? Or is it causing you to hire VAs to create presentations, options, and more to make sure clients understand?
Because I promise you: simpler is always more profitable.
And more importantly, it actually feels good to run.
